A change is gonna come
Change is hard sometimes, but it is also constant and necessary. It was time for the amateurish little family recipe website I designed years ago in a website class to go. In its place I present you with (ta da!) a new and improved design, courtesy of WordPress and some anonymous web designer who created this spiffy Recipes template (thank you, anonymous web designer). Here are some of the new features:
- A better search engine (yay, yippee, yahoo) – now you can search by keyword (an ingredient, for example), a course (appetizer or seafood entree), or a special tag (cookie, slow cooker, Christmas, etc.). Go wild, you know you want to.
- Separate logins for all my favorite people. Eventually (when I figure out how to do it), you’ll be able to submit and edit your own recipes, tag recipes as favorites, create blog entries, and leave comments (all positive, of course).
- Prettier colors ’cause you know how important that is. This month’s color is blue. And probably next month’s. And the month after. Blue is my fave.
- This snazzy new blog feature. Now I have my own little interweb platform from which to communicate my innermost thoughts – about my undying love for chocolate, my primal need to bake on a rainy day (thanks, Mum), how cooking equals love. Yup, it’s gonna be great, stay tuned.
This new website is a work in progress, my winter labor of love. Currently I have all of 2 1/2 recipes completed. But it’s a start, so bear with me. In the meantime, you can access all your ol’ favorites on the old website, accessible through a handy-dandy link at the top of the new site. LMK what you think and what improvements I should make. And if anyone wants to help me enter recipes….
