Bogard Family’s Pigs in a Blanket
Aunt Gay made this when we visited her. She says it is a recipe her children always requested on special occasions, such as on birthdays. We thought it was delicious so we requested the recipe. – Jeanne
Ingredients
- thin steak (¼-inch is best)
- bacon
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Cut steak into strips about the width of a piece of bacon and a few inches long or whatever the steak allows.
Lay bacon on the steak, then add salt and pepper.
Roll up and skewer with a toothpick.
Brown in deep pan, keeping toothpicks in place. Cover with water. Can use a pressure cooker and cook on 15 lbs. pressure for about 15 minutes so it is nice and tender. Otherwise, you will need to cook it in a covered pan until tender, about an hour or two.
Thicken the liquid as you would when making gravy.
