Oatmeal Chippers
Gramp’s favorite cookie made with white bits.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 cups quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup (6-ounce pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips, or white bits (white chocolate chips)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnut or pecan), if desired
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl beat butter or margarine and sugars until light and creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
- Preheat oven to 350° F
- Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture, mixing thoroughly.
- Stir in rolled oats, chocolate chips and nuts.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, spacing 2-inches apart, onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake for about 12 minutes or till lightly browned.
- Remove from pan to cool on wire rack. Makes 6 dozen.
