Asian Cabbage Salad
An excellent twist to cabbage salad. Very tasty. – Kathy
Ingredients
- 1 head of savoy, napa, or regular cabbage, thinly sliced
- 6 green onions, sliced
- 2 pkg. Ramen Noodles (put in plastic bag and break up with a rolling pin – throw away the flavor packet)
- ½ cup sesame seeds
- ½ cup slivered almonds
- 4 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl mix together cabbage and onions. Can do a day ahead.
- In a sauce pan over medium-low heat, sauté broken noodles, sesame seeds and almonds in butter until slightly browned. Cool.
- In a small bowl mix together oil, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and pepper for dressing.
- Add the noodle mixture to the cabbage and onion and mix well. Add the dressing JUST before serving.
