Slow Cooker Caramelized Onions

These are great to keep in the freezer to use when a recipe calls for caramelized onions and you don’t have the extra 30 minutes to caramelize the onions.

Ingredients

  • 4 onions sliced about 1/8” inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons Oil (olive or vegetable)

Instructions

  1. Put onions and oil into slow cooker insert. Mix until onions are coated in oil.
  2. Cook on low for 10 hours. Can leave the lid off for the last hour to crisp up the onions.
  3. Use in your favorite recipes that call for caramelized onions or freeze to use later.
