Spiced Apple Pie
This is my favorite apple pie recipe because of the spices that are added. It gives it a nice flavor. – Kathy
Ingredients
- 3 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
- ½ cup + 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup flour
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon mace
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Place in crust, mounding in center. Top with crust. Brush top with milk. Cut slits and place pie on baking sheet. Bake at 400° F for 1 hour 10 minutes. Cover crust with foil if browns too quickly.
