Apple Brownies

This is a classic that I got from Grammy’s recipe box when I was a kid and just learning how to bake.  It’s incredibly easy to make and tastes great.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 medium sized apples, chopped
  • ½ cup nuts, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

Cream butter and sugar together.  Add egg and beat until creamy.  Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.  Stir thoroughly.  Add chopped nuts and apples.  Bake in 7”x11” pan at 350° for 40 minutes.

Cool in pan.  Cut in squares.
