Ginger Cookies
This recipe was given to me by Ma McCabe, a housemother at Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity at the University of Maine, during my Junior year in college. Every guy I ever knew, especially mine, loved these cookies! Still do.

INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoon soda
- 2 teaspoon ginger
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup molasses
- 1 egg
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix ingredients together. Roll into balls (size of walnuts). Shake in bag of sugar.
Bake at 350° F for 12 to 15 minutes.
Cookies are very round and crinkly-topped.
