Oatmeal Chippers
Gramp's favorite cookie made with white bits.

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 cups quick-cooking or old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup (6-ounce pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels, or white bits
- 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired
INSTRUCTIONS
In mixing bowl beat butter or margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture, mixing thoroughly. Stir in rolled oats, chocolate morsels and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, spacing 2-inched apart, onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350° F oven for about 12 minutes or till lightly browned. Remove from pan to cool on wire rack. Makes 6 dozen.
