Taffy Crunch Cookies

Recipe originated with Phil Rhoads, wife of an Ag Engineer who was Gramp’s  mentor at UM.  It tasted like the old Mary Jane cookies we had as kids.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 4½ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda

INSTRUCTIONS

Cream butter and sugar, add molasses and milk.  Add dry ingredients.  Shape dough in rolls.  Chill.  Slice thin and bake at 375° F for 8-10 minutes. Remove from pan at once.
